Who's going to FantasyCon next month then? I will be, and I know Troo is going - anyone else from here?
I noticed John P's name on the list of attendees. John - I'll have to look out for you now I know what you look like from your Coffin Nails video! If you see a strange, shy-looking middle-aged lady giving you funny looks it's probably me trying to work out if it's you or not! (I'm hopeless with faces)
Anybody else going from here? It would be nice to have a Vault meet-up ... ;D

My dear Caroline, please come and say hello and allow me the courtesy of buying a lady with whom I am yet to be acquainted a drink. If it helps you to spot me I shall be wearing velvet although I haven't decided which colour yet. Possibly green this year. Other than that I suspect I will be making a loud noise at some point (and I'll be on stage on Friday night for the William Hope Hodgson discussion panel).
See you soon!

Now there's an offer I can't refuse! ..and I'll be on stage on Friday night for the William Hope Hodgson discussion panel). Have you been sent a schedule? As my membership has lapsed, they seem to be keeping me in the dark about what's happening and when. If you could post a schedule here, that'd be great. I'll watch out for the velvet then!

I'll also be there, and on the very same WHH panel as Lord Probert. Friday night 10pm, 19th Sept. Not to be missed ! Mark S.

See you there Caroline!
I'm looking forward to hearing more about the panels. I haven't had any news of them yet either except for the one mentioned above. The Machen panel last year was brilliant!

I'll also be there, and on the very same WHH panel as Lord Probert. I'll almost certainly be in the audience eagerly listening to you both then! Unless it happens to be scheduled at the same time as, say, a Ramsey Campbell reading - in which case I'm afraid Ramsey would be my first choice! So, Ally, have you not been sent any details about the banquet and stuff either then? From the comments on the BFS board I thought it was just a few of us who were going to the con but weren't BFS members who hadn't heard anything. You're a member, aren't you? I must say, I'm not impressed by lack of communications about the con this year.

I know it is difficult organising panels etc - perhaps next year there could be more information as they fill up with speakers etc. It would help get more attendees and interest going.
There is info coming out soon but instead of two weeks before the convention it would be good to know earlier so people could make their minds up whether they want to attend or not. Online would be cool and we could all comment as it builds up momentum.

I'll watch out for the velvet then! Watch out for it? On a clear day I can see it from here! Good luck John, Mark and all the other panel-beaters plus anyone else from Vault who's going. When you all win lit. awards be sure not to mention your involvement with us or they'd be perfectly within their rights to grab them back off you!

I'll watch out for the velvet then! Carolinec - can I just point that you've been invited for a drink by a man, hardly known to you, who wears rakish velvet jackets, makes titillating films and is a notoriously smooth talker. Didn't your mother mention anything about this when you were small? In all seriousness have a great time. Wish I was going

Won't be there - I'm getting married on that day.... Aw, congrats Johnny! You could always bring Mrs Mains to Nottingham for the honeymoon ... OK, maybe not!

Didn't your mother mention anything about this when you were small? Don't worry - I know how to take care of myself! I did a little aikido when I was younger you know! And now Mark is tempting me too with a nice signed book and a free glass of wine courtesy of Steve Jones. Ooooo the temptation ....

Thanks everyone for your well wishes. The only thing I can sneak into the wedding that's even remotely eerie is a pair of silver with diamante encrusted skull cufflinks. Really did try to move the wedding to another day, but the missus to be threatened me with castration... But if you see Nicholas Royle at Fantasy Con, make sure he is getting the Best New Horror #19 signed for me. Can't have him slacking...
