Used to love this comic as a lad. Sadly the arrival of the missus and two kids put a stop to me hoarding them any more and I had to part with them many many years ago. And now I want them back. Just for pure nostalgia reasons and so on. Managed to get a few from ebay. But some people do not know how to treat their stuff, thats why I know the folk here do. So anybody got any old back issues for sale they don't want ?

I am not saying this to cause a war or tirade of abuse. But do people hear not think the David Case tale is way to overlong ? His previous two efforts in volumes 11 and 12 are also lengthy but cut to the chase quickly and keep at a fair old pace. Whereas this one here just drags along and so on. We the reader have already established the conclusion and know the outcome around half way. But the chap in the story is riding back and forth across the lands and all we get are pieces that become a little tiresome. I certainly am not attacking David Case as a writer. His style is superb and The Cell and Manhunt are two wonderful stories. Its just here I think it could have done with a lot of trimming down, considering how basic the plot is.

James Herbert could be the modern day Nostradamus. Where I live there is a huge park that has now had to be supervised at all times as the rats have started ganging up and attacking Ducks and Swans , sometimes whilst people are feeding the birds. Folks have watched while they are tore to shreds before their horrified eyes.

Not had my say on the footy here. To superstitious you see. But it pains me to see England go out when they have played far better at times than teams that are through. And being a Manchester United fan its more of a bitter pill when I see Horseface suceed against us. Its not over theres still a slight chance. But I'm backing the Dutch from here on in.

How frequent are the scenes with the monster Dem ? In Curse of Loch Ness he rarely raises his scaley head until the end. And thats but a mere cameo. Nice book nevertheless.

Not a bad little book this. Although it doesn't throw us anything remarkably new, it is however a good reference book and easy to navigate. These books tend to be cluttered up but it sections each of his works well. Enjoyed it a lot and raced through reading it.
On a side note his latest Novel Mr Mercedes is superb.

Its funny, but I bet if the phase had continued you could bet someone would have thrown one out. I still can't believe nobody did Centipedes. Surely more menacing and grisly than moths, caterpillars and flies.

Yes. She was superb in the Pete Walker stuff in particular. Always preferred her villainous roles. Notable in House of Whipcord and my personal favorite Frightmare. A charming and soft spoken lady playing such nasty sinister parts. But she was damn good at it.

Sorry folks, but I lapped them up. Of course the true and greatest example is of course The Rats. But I just loved bugs on the rampage novels. I'm sure a few more members do too. It did get a little silly and outrageous when some of the more bizarre creatures got involved ( Rabbits etc ) but I treasure my Halkins and Lewis books.

Well I can't say I have ever been asked that question before. And although I think your tongue is in your cheek when you inquire I will have to say The Festering is probably one of the biggest candidates. The Thirst books add a bit. Maybe The Brain Eaters too. Infected by Scott Sigler. But perhaps the champion of them all is Hutson's Breeding Ground. Pus, Blood Gore and that one throws in Slime too.

House on Straw Hill / Expose is brilliant isn't it. As for this Godzilla remake, avoid like the plague folks. And the price of a ticket nowadys is virtually cost of a films budget.

I'm sure most of the folks here would say his Crab books have probably the most gore. Although he does throw some around in Wolfcurse, Slime Beast, Alligators and Cannibals. One of my personal favorite books of his mixes the gore with pus too. Big thumbs up there.
