Another cracking issue, I love comic books so it was right up my street!. My only criticism (and it is very minor) is the typeface used for the title, for a magazine all about lurid cheap thrills literature it's a bit, well, bland!, look at some of the book covers reproduced in each issue, most of them are really attention grabbing!!.

Thanks Andydecker, I've now ordered a copy of book 1 from Amazon marketplace so I can make a start on them, they sound great, it's just a shame there's no brain eating cannibal mutants in them, I can't think of a book that wouldn't be made better with the addition of brain eating cannibal mutants:).

Made quite a good find in my local Oxfam shop today, I got The Survivalist 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, just need to get 1 and 5 now to give myself a nice little run, I was well pleased to get these as it's always been one of those series I intended to read one day, anyone on here familiar with these books?.

I went into London at the weekend and picked up the following in a 2nd hand bookshop:-
The Rage - Jack Ramsay Ghoul - Mark Ronson
I also went to the Cinema Store and picked up:-
Zombie Holocaust - David Flint
I haven't read it all yet but so far I must say it's pretty good, it's an overview of Zombies in popular culture, it covers movies, computer games, comics and TV (it features Dead Set so it's right up to date) but of special interest to people on this board there's a chapter on books, Peter Tremaynes' Zombie gets a bit of coverage as well as John Russo, Max Brooks, Brian Keene and the Mammoth Book of Zombies, recommended!.

I can't comment on James Herbert as the most recent of his books I've read is The Others but I've read a bit of Shaun Hutsons' recent stuff and I've liked them, in fact, I'd say I could grab a book from any stage of his writing career and find them equally enjoyable...I do have a special place in my heart for Slugs and Spawn though, love those covers!. Thanks for the warm welcome btw!.

Hi guys, I'm a long time lurker but a first time poster, just finished reading this and liked it so I thought I'd take the plunge and post my thoughts on it. Another pacey and quick read from Mr Hutson, it's great to see him do a Zombie book during the undead renaissance that's been going on over the last few years, made all the better for the inclusion of some Voodoo, something that's curiously missing from most Zombie movies and books (guess we can thank George Romero for that). The only thing that was a slight disapointment to me was the lack of much of his trademark sex and gore!, it's not completely "dry" but there's only one sex scene and not that much gore (the opening chapter is pretty gross though!). Great cover and at the back of the book there's an interview with Mr Hutson and a preview of Charlie Hustons' Already Dead .
