... A big bush of hair is also visible, supposedly attached somewhere near the crotch area, ... Looking closer, it seems to have two eyes, and appears to be a head peeking forth playfully. That makes the illustration humorous too. But I really prefer to think of it as a bush of hair growing above the leg. More creepy that way.

The TrickTwo young girls get on the wrong side of an old lady who lives in the same street. She can't really be a witch... can she? For some reason this story also appears in Waking Nightmares. That's probably because some editions of Dark Companions have slightly different contents, so the above story may not have been in print when Waking Nightmares came out. In fact, the ISFDB is very confusing as it gives the same, alternate contents list for the Fontana edition. I also don't remember 'The Show Goes On' being in my copy, though it probably must have been.
