Finally found this book after months and months of searching for it in one of thirty boxes of books I have up in the loft... Had to share it with you. Oh, for the days before photoshop..or maybe he really WAS a cyclops...

Here's another cracking cover - sadly no artist credited on this 1980 Sphere book... Barbara (for this is she presumably) is not looking too well...

It's Terry Oakes, nights, who also contributed the covers to the Sphere editions of Kirby McCauley's Frights 1 and Peter Tremayne's The Curse Of Loch Ness. Six of his paintings (Including the ones used for Portrait Of Barbara and Frights) are reproduced in Jarvis & Spencer's Echoes Of Terror for Hamlyn.

Love this one, but the embossing doesn't really come out in the scan Again, the scan doesn't do the embossing justice Come on Bill Gates!! When will you come up with embossing software so that we can feel the covers (on screen) with our finger tips? Here's a chance for you to prove that Microsoft isn't pants. (Does Bill Gates read the posts on Vault?)

Some favourites of mine from my recent purchases... Hope you like them Like them? I love 'em all - especially The Cannibal. That Satan's Snowdrop cover is an absolute classic, isn't it? And Alligator - "Over 600,000 sold", always nice to be reminded that these books made the bestsellers lists in their day. Well, some of them.

Some more from my collection: This was not what Molly meant when she said she needed a hand: Lunchtime! Yes I know it's science fiction, but sometimes the line between horror & sf is thin (at least for me anyway)

Eight Tales of Terror (?) (Artist - Valla) Does anyone recognise this book cover? - It could have been one that was rejected, I've never come across it myself. Firstphoto superimposed onto plastic - part of port folio. Original painting

Eight Tales of Terror (?) (Artist - Valla) Does anyone recognise this book cover? - It could have been one that was rejected, I've never come across it myself. Publisher was Scholastic. Umpteen different printings with a couple of different covers. Believe this one is 1974 but don't have a copy myself.
