As I await my prince in my tower, I hope when he comes he doesn't serenade me with the strains of Diamond Lights by the soccar duo Glen and Chis. I think I'd cut my hair off...while he was climbing and halfway up. As bad as England in penalty shootouts.

As I love things to do with myself (the more the better), please suggest songs to use to serenade me.
Don't be shy. The more the merrier.

Even though the singers have a stupid name, here is a good version of the Medieval Latin Christmas carol Gaudete:
Edited to say something slightly wrong with sound occasionally but don't worry about it.

Here is a song for my best friend on here, Swampirella.
It's about Grendel. And it is 17 minutes long. Hehe.

I've just discovered I quite like some of Marillion's music, despite them having a name that makes no sense, and a stupidly nicknamed lead singer (Fish) and often overdone lyrics. Some of it sounds quite poetic. the later stuff with a different singer seems poorer though. Average lyrics and music in comparison.
I see a cover featuring, amongst others, Dylan Thomas, Robbie Burns, and Truman Capote next to a bar.

Even though the singers have a stupid name, here is a good version of the Medieval Latin Christmas carol Gaudete: Some years ago, circa late nineties/ early 00s I guess, the Medieval Babes performed a flash gig of sorts in gloomy Abney Park cemetery, Stoke Newington. Shortly afterward, news and magazine reports - allegedly sourced from local tramps - of "vampires" loose in the cemetery. Not sure if it's still the case, but at least three of the babes had vampire fangs fitted at that time, and there was surely a Goth element among their fanbase. Don't think any of the days "serious vampire researchers" made the connection (though I may be doing someone an injustice).

"They wanted to make sure we didn't perform a striptease," Katharine Blake, the Baebes founder and musical director, told the Independent on Sunday. "At Ely Cathedral they thought we were a Satanic cult." It's just to get publicity I think.

It's just to get publicity I think. Who for, would you say. The Cathedral. The Medieval Babes. Or both? Not a trick question or anything. I genuinely wonder who would benefit most from the exposure.

I'd guess it suits both. But it is for tourists isn't it. It won't increase congregations, which is the church's main problem. I read about this before: edition.cnn.com/travel/article/norwich-cathedral-helter-skelter-scli-gbr-intl/index.htmlIn some ways he is right, because most cathedrals are works of art everywhere, but I don't know if you would still be able to see the roof bosses from that height, still it's a new perspective on the cathedral. But did it have to be a helter-skelter to do it?

But did it have to be a helter-skelter to do it? Can't wait until they install a burger joint. Summer Breeze by Seals and Croft 1. Type O Negative do a very lovely Summer Breeze. Pete Steele at the top of his game. 2. The Isley Brothers version is likewise sublime, but even above that I'll go for their exuberant Who's that Lady?. I'm not really a summery person

Are they still going? Has the line-up changed? I'm not sure how I managed to increase the size of my photo there, but I'm sure no one is going to complain. Edited to say it went back to normal when I posted. So you don't actually know what I was talking about. Oh well.

That video posted by Shrink Proof has a phone box in it, which oddly reminds me of one of the Marillion songs I thought had some of the best lyrics (even if overwritten a bit).
I saw teenage girls like gaudy moths
A classroom's shabby butterflies
Flirt in the glow of stranded telephone boxes
She nervously undressed in the dancing beams of the Fidra lighthouse
