bare bones the best of - Edited by Peter Enfantino and John Scoleri (Cimarron Street Books, 2019, 238 p.) Content: Overviews of fiction series including: George Chesbro’s Mongo, Robert Lory’s Dracula, Richard Stark’s Parker, John Sanford’s Prey novels, Karl Edward Wagner’s Kane, and the Black novels of Cornell Woolrich! Retrospectives on filmmakers Edward L. Cahn and Jerry Warren! An overview of the Blind Dead films! Ann-Margret movie tie-ins! Annotated Indexes to Saturn Science Fiction and Web Detective Stories pulps! A detailed overview of the Dark Shadows novels of Dan (Marilyn) Ross! Commentary on Trevanian and Top Ten lists by David J. Schow! A look back at the Trilogy of Terror Zuni! Interviews with Bill Crider, Richard Prather, Robert Serling and Bay Area Creature Features horror host Bob Wilkins! This has just arrived. It is a compilation of articles of the old bare bones fanzine. All in b/w, though. The overviews of fiction series are very interesting - hi, Robert Lory and Dan Ross again - and if one likes crime and thriller fiction on the side, there are a lot of old goodies like Richard S. Prather or Trevanian. Avaiable on Am*z*n. A further look is here on the bare bones blog .Recommended.

God, but it's never ending. I still have Light Into Ink and at least two Hot Lead's to start. This looks class (and very PF). Am particularly interested in the articles on REL's 'Dracula Returns' and Web Detective. Sample page on blog says Peter Enfantino also working on a Web Terror Stories feature, but doesn't look like that one made the cut?

Sample page on blog says Peter Enfantino also working on a Web Terror Stories feature, but doesn't look like that one made the cut? Unfortunetly not. The first ting I looked, as I reviewed one or two of its stories which found their way in a German anthology. Emory Connor:Mistress of the Six Gates of Horror. A so so rip off of Eliot's The Copper Bowl. I wanted to know more about this "Connor".
But bare bones will get a new life as a print magazine next years, as the editors wrote. Hopefully the index then will be done. Considering how much they write for the blog this is a lot of work.

Andy! I'm working diligently on that Web conclusion. I would say it will appear in #5 (sometime early next year at our current publishing schedule). As you noted, I have a lot of irons in the fire right now. The Manhunt book comes out from Stark House sometime in 2021 and I have to have the ms to them by Christmas (oh my!); Jose Cruz and I are just putting the finishing touches on a book about Harvey Pre-Code Horror (should be out by summer's end); Jose, Jack, and I are editing a book on EC Comics that will show sometime next year; as well as the regular Warren and 1980s Batman blogs and writing material for bare bones print. I did, however, complete the Shock Mystery Tales article that was started way back in BB #3/4. SMT was a second cousin to Web Terror.
An exciting time for Cimarron Street Books!

I stumbled upon Web Terror while doing the research for some odd story. So it was nice to read something about the magazine half a year later. I am tempted with that Manhunt book. Even if I am not that much interested in crime short stories at the moment, the history of this one may be interesting. Looking forword to the new BareBones which I ordered last week.
