William Hope Hodgson - The House on the Borderland (1908) As I couldn't find a thread of this, I created one. This is a German paperback from Suhrkamp Publishing, done in 1985. A reprint of a hardcover from 1973. Aside the title-story there were a few other tales, all Carnacki. Content: The House on the Borderland (1908) The Whistling Room (1910) The Gateway of the Monster (1910) The Hog As already mentioned in some threads, at the time Suhrkamp was mostly into literary fiction, Philosophy, politics and science, but also had its "Phantastische Bibliothek" (Phantastic Library), doing writers like Lovecraft, Blackwood, Smith, Ballard, Dick and other European writers. Always with tasteful if dull covers. 20 years later Festa Publisher did a new Translation in 2004. "House on the Borderland" is really a classic of horror. If one wants just to see the movie, take the comic adaption by Richard Corben,. done by DC Comics Vertigo imprint.
