I wonder if anyone can help me ?
Its a short story, late 19th or early 20th century.
A man on a cycling tour in rural Britain rides through a wood and finds an abandoned farm .
He is witness to the spectral sight of the death of a child torn apart by a pack of dogs.
I'm sure it was quite a famous author but can't seem to place it.
Any help gratefully recieved."

This sounds great. Can you remember anything about the book it appeared in? Paperback or hardback, cover artwork ....
