I'm trying to find the following story titles. Help appreciated!
1) A guy meets a friend while on his way to travel (by train I think) and when he returns he finds out the friend was missing and was found on the roof of a haunted house holding a bloodied hammer and his hair had turned white. Author may be Anon or Unknown.
2) Victorian - Man on bicycle runs into horse/carriage and falls and hurts his ankle. Guy passing by helps into his house which is nearby. House is haunted?
3) Victorian - Man on bicycle? finds a house for rent and as he and his mother want to move he stops and gets the details. House is haunted.
I read these a long time ago but would like to reread if I can find them!

Cover illustration. Paperback or hardback. Adult or children's. That sort of thing? |

The first one was in a small book that had lost its dust jacket and had the typical yellowed pages of an old book. It was a blue hard cover maybe 6x4 and two inches thick. The guy going on the train - his name started with an "E" I believe (like Eugene or Ernest).
Can't remember win what books I read the other two but they were all anthologies.... so long ago!
I got them all from a library as a kid. Already tried the library but they don't have anything like that anymore, and now I live 2300 miles away from that library so cant physically check. I've gone through listserv and other sites without luck. Gone thru pretty much everything on the HorrorMasters wayback machine too.
