The new issue of the G&S Newsletter is at the printer now. Forty-four pages, including new fiction from Mark Valentine, Jane Jakeman and David Longhorn, plus articles and other non-fiction. For info on how to subscribe, you can email me at dandrpardoe@gmail.com I'm especially pleased with the fiction this time, but I'll let Kev be the judge of that when he does a write-up of the issue later on!

Thank you, shall look forward to it - numbers 27 and 28 are wonderful! Will it include the results of the Ghost Story Awards?

Thank you, shall look forward to it - numbers 27 and 28 are wonderful! Will it include the results of the Ghost Story Awards? Yes, it will (I saved a space to add them at the last minute). We've timed it all very carefully! G&S is due back from the printer around March 15th, and the awards will be announced on March 16th. You may well read about them on the Net first though - on Wormwoodiana or David Longhorn's blog - as I'll be sending the overseas copies out first to make sure they go off before the dreaded postage increases.

Come to think of it, unless I'm too overwhelmed with envelope stuffing at the time, I'll try to remember to announce them here first thing on the 16th.

All the years we've been doing this, and it's the first time this reader has voted in any of the awards. Am almost hoping none of dem nominations make the top three because that will mean there is even better out there to be found. Have a feeling this is going to be a good month for independent publications ....

The announcement of the Ghost Story Awards has been brought forward to the 11th. I'll put the results here (or, rather, I suppose I'd better put them on the proper GS Award thread), unless the winner(s) beat me to it. If you can make a certain deduction from that, then - well - it can't be helped!!!

I've posted the Ghost Story Award results on the appropriate thread, but here they are again - and it's a denizen of the Vault who has swept the board:
Best Story: "Malware" by James Doig from Friends of the Dead (Sarob Press)
Best Collection: Friends of the Dead (Sarob).
I'm very pleased both for James and for Rob Morgan at Sarob.

Little did I know I had somehow pulled off a double whammy. Pleasantly shocked and not a little embarrassed in this day and age of high quality weird fiction. Needless to say, many of those tales appeared in G&S and All Hallows.

Hope you enjoy the contents. I've already spotted at least one factual error (deliberate, of course!). Why do these things appear when it's too late to do anything about it?

Rosemary, I finished reading Ghosts & Scholars M. R. James Newsletter #29 last night. I didn't notice any errors.
The best item is "The Unseen Night Of The Demon", which looks at Charles Bennett's original script for Night of the Demon.
I don't have the Newsletter with me, so I might be making an error myself. I'm going by my memory of your editorial listing the contents of The Ghosts & Scholars Book of Shadows Volume Three. It looks like "Another Episode of Cathedral History" is actually a sequel or prequel to "The Stalls of Barchester Cathedral" not "An Episode of Cathedral History". As the latter is my favourite of the original stories, I'm disappointed that there won't be a sequel or prequel to it and a couple of the other originals.
Here's a suggestion. Why not change the name of the Ghosts & Scholars M. R. James Newsletter to Ghosts & Scholars? It'll save ink.
