Looking for a copy of this rarity at a not too astronomical price. I'm moving back to the UK and selling off hundreds of books among which sadly will be a copy. One is signed by our man Johnny and the other by all the authors at the whc. I'm not sure what its worth.

I would prefer to pay via Paypal if possible. Perhaps you can send me a private message when you have a price in mind. George

Looking for a copy of this rarity at a not too astronomical price. I believe this is getting reissued in Paperback. I recently preordered it (but cannot for the life of me recall where from) I'll double check...I did receive a mail stating it was slightly delayed. Edit: Spectral Press are releasing it

Hi Johnny, I did tweet you about this so delighted to hear from you here.
Really cannot wait for this to get published! Sounds like it could be a way off but your previous books have all been excellent so the wait will be worth it. (Looking forward to Plugged Into The Mains)
Do you have a rough idea for when it could be released?

As I'm still working on the paperback release and have been for over 8 months now, I think it'll not be for at least another half a year. Enjoy PITM!

I believe this is getting reissued in Paperback. I recently preordered it (but cannot for the life of me recall where from) I'll double check...I did receive a mail stating it was slightly delayed. Edit: Spectral Press are releasing it I'm rebuilding that book from the ground up. It's rather painful work. Just to let you know there has been this announcement from Spectral Press: Spectral Press has, unfortunately, run into some financial problems within the last six months. Simon Marshall-Jones has had lots of support from fellow publishers, friends and family and has had a long discussion with Gary Compton who believes he can help a friend get Spectral back on its feet. Simon has agreed to let Gary Compton deal with authors and creditors to explain the situation as to how we got into it in the first place and also make a plan to pay the debt of around £8000.
Gary is a good friend and has said he can help because he is detached from the emotional situation Spectral and Simon Marshall Jones are in. In no way does Gary take any responsibility for any of the problems but he believes he can help. It may take some time; hopefully everyone will support Spectral’s efforts to rectify the situation.
As Simon’s friends will know, he has been suffering from depression and other health issues and the pressures have got the better of him. He is sorry but believes with Gary’s help he can get through this. This is a personal thing for Gary and is in no way related to Tickety Boo Press Ltd.
We ask customers and authors involved in Spectral to bear with us on this: those who are owed money/royalties WILL get paid, and books WILL be sent out, of that we can assure you. Gary will now take questions on those issues mentioned at info@garycompton.co.uk or wait for him to get in touch.
However we still intend to publish the following in the first six months of the year:
David Tallerman’s collection “The Sign in the Moonlight and Other Stories” will be published in paperback on 18th January.
A chapbook called “Shadows in Paint” by Steve Lockley and Paul Lewis will be published in February.
Jeff Noon’s novel, “Mappalujo” will be published in April in paperback.
A poetry chapbook called “Songs of the Shattered World: the broken hymns of Hastur” edited by John Allen, will be published in June.
We are still looking for an alternative printer for both “We are the Martians: the legacy of Nigel Kneale” edited by Neil Snowden and for the hardback version of Cate Gardner’s “The Bureau of Them”.
We would like to thank you for your patience in this matter in advance.
So it doesn't look like there will be a paperback version of BACK FROM THE DEAD in 2016, or ever. If you have pre-ordered it, email the above email.

Sorry to hear that. Back from the Dead was a great book, well deserving the British Fantasy Award it won.

Back From The Dead has finally received paperback release via Black Shuck Books Les Edwards Available Now! Back From The Dead Excellent news! I've just ordered a copy. I can't wait to see that gorgeous Les Edwards cover in the ....errrr...flesh. I'm hoping that some of the other stalled Spectral Press projects might surface soon. I read a few months ago that PS Publishing was taking on the Nigel Kneale book that was due around the time Spectral suspended operations, but haven't heard anything more since then. Mark

Mark Don't know the contents yet looks as though it's an almost entirely different beast from the Nurse & Giblets original. This from Mr Mains' latest mailshot. Alternatively, you can order via Am*z*n UK
