We've just published our ninth book, Moloch's Children. Originally titled Sendings, the novel was being serialised in Rog Pile's magazine Filthy Creations.
Unfortunately, the magazine ceased to appear after only two installments of Sendings had been published, so I have now decided to publish it under the Parallel Universe Publications imprint. Moloch's Children is available in paperback. amazon.co.uk £7.99 trade paperback £2.99 ebook amazon.com $9.99 trade paperback $3.99 ebook Other news from Parallel Universe Publications:Our next book will be Kitchen Sink Gothic in June. Although the final date for submissions is the end of May, the TOC so far is: 1964 by Franklin Marsh Derek and the Sun-Spots by Andrew Darlington Daddy Giggles by Stephen Bacon Black Sheep by Gary Fry Jamal Comes Home by Benedict J. Jones Waiting by Kate Farrell Lilly Finds a Place to Stay by Charles Black The Mutant's Cry by David A. Sutton The Sanitation Solution by Walter Gascoigne Up and Out of Here by Mark Patrick Lynch Late Shift by Adrian Cole After this we have lined up a great collection of short stories by Kate Farrell, with an introduction by Reggie Oliver, And Nobody Lived Happily Ever After. We are also working with Jim Pitts on a book dedicated to British fantasy artists, including Jim himself, Dave Carson, John Stuart, etc. We'll probably cover three artists per book, with articles, photos, bibliographies, biographies, and, of course, as much art as we can cram in. This will be a larger size than our fiction books, possibly 8.5 in x 11 in, with full colour covers. As yet we haven't decided on a title for the series, but we hope to have the first book out before the end of the year. Hopefully this will be a major item.

It's a Parallel Universe where people never sleep, right?
All good news. After waiting so long for a David A. Riley book to see print - remember the ongoing saga of Lurkers At The Threshold? - the books are coming so fast and thick, I'm not even sure if I've read Moloch's Children in its Sendings incarnation, or if I'm thinking of The Return. Is Moloch's ... a Grudge End novel?
With more stories to be added, Kitchen Sink Gothic already looks a cracker. Very pleased to see a considerable Black Book contingent represented among what looks a particularly strong line up.
Have been impressed by Kate Farrell's contributions to the Black Books (8-10), Terror Tales Of The Seaside and Screaming Book Of Horror, and will be up for a copy of And Nobody Lived Happily Ever After as and when. Love the title.
Not sure I'm familiar with John Stuart's work, but have been an admirer of Jim Pitts and Dave Carson's illustrations from when first setting eyes on issues of Ghosts & Scholars and Fantasy Tales. Hope the book is successful enough to spawn a series.
Good luck with all of these, and well done PUP for providing another rare outlet for these outstanding talents. Please keep us posted.

Besides working on getting Kate Farrell's collection of short stories into print - And Nobody Lived Happily Ever After - we are also working on collecting together all of Irvin S. Cobbs' darker stories for the first time into one volume. Better known as a writer of humorous tales, this will show another side to him. Two of his stories are known to have inspired H. P. Lovecraft himself. Cobbs' tale Fishhead (which PUP reprinted earlier this year in Things That Go Bump in the Night) gave rise to The Shadow Over Innsmouth. The Unbroken Chain helped to give Lovecraft the idea behind The Rats in the Walls. The collection will be titled Fishhead and Other Weird Tales and will, hopefully, be published before the end of the year.

Both books look interesting. The two Cobb stories I'm familiar with, Fishhead and Faith, Hope & Charity are excellent, and I've yet to read the story by Our Lady of Chucklevision didn't hit the spot.

Parallel Universe will be publishing a collection of seventeen highly disturbing stories by Kate Farrell in December, And Nobody Lived happily Ever After. The book will be published as a trade paperback and an ebook and has a cover by the massively talented Vincent Chong. Kate Farrell lives in Edinburgh. She was an actress for over thirty years, a career that spanned everything from Chekhov to Chucklevision. Her favourite role however was as Mrs Lovell in A Guilty Thing Surprised, adapted from the story by Ruth Rendell. As Kate is pathologically indisposed to describe a happy ending, she now principally writes 'contes cruels' wherein bad things happen to bad people; sometimes the innocent suffer too. Several of her short stories have been published: in Charles Black’s Black Books of Horror, Paul Finch’s Terror Tales, The Screaming Book of Horror, Best British Horror 2014, both edited by Johnny Mains, and in Kitchen Sink Gothic. Her first novella My Name is Mary Sutherland was published by PS in 2014. She has won awards for some stories, also one sonnet and one haiku, and the opening chapter of her novel Or The Cat Gets It won the Linen Press award for their Beginnings Competition. Yeah, by my reckoning, I've read - and thoroughly enjoyed - seven of the seventeen, and if those are typical of the rest then truly this author is "pathologically indisposed to describe a happy ending." AND a Reggie Oliver intro (see also Anna Taborska's For Those Who Dream Monsters). Can't ask for a lot more, really.

It's all go at Parallel Universe Publications. Our next book, which will be published in November, will be a brand new collection of tales by Johnny Mains: A Little Light Screaming.
