Here's a couple of websites I've stumbled on recently - Mystery & Imagination - "This blog is designed to provide fans of classic gothic, horror and supernatural fiction with free formatted ebooks and full text PDFs of well-known and less well-known texts, drawn from public domain sources." Loads of good stuff on there, much of it overlapping with the Wordsworth Editions, but also quite a few names I don't recognize at all. The Haunted Library - main focus is on reviews of traditional Victorian/Edwardian ghost stories (though if you run your eye down the author list, a certain "James Doig" also gets a review), with some nice cover shots and illustrations (plus the occasional story reproduced). Again, quite a few authors that I don't recognize.

Thanks Dr Strange
I can see that my somewhat limited pensioner's income will be further stretched (I must find out what a kindle is).

The PDF files on Mystery & Imagination are OK - the files are hosted on Dropbox, and there is no charge for setting up an account or downloading them. I've downloaded a few of the more obscure ones, but haven't got around to reading any yet - though when I do, I will probably have to print them out first as I still can't really get into reading off a screen (so my employer will be footing the bill).
