I don't really have anything to add to Dem's lucid comments (other than to say that, sadly, Mrs mcannon has never really shown any real interest in the magazine, or in my collecting interests generally; she tends to just shake her head and say "What old rubbish have you bought now?" Still, she's a craft enthusiast - to each their own....). However, I'm posting because I've just arrived home from work, found my copy of #27 win today's mail, opened it and down a very quick flick through - and it looks great. Congrats, Justin - I look forward to reading this one over the next couple of evenings!

found my copy of #27 win today's mail, Got my copy yesterday too - very nice indeed. Must look out for those Jack Oleck House of Mystery books - they look great, much nicer than his Tales From the Crypt.

Got my copy yesterday too - very nice indeed. Must look out for those Jack Oleck House of Mystery books - they look great, much nicer than his Tales From the Crypt. "Read them at night .... and wake up screaming!" As it happens, of the several titles featured in the Artists Assemble! extravaganza, the House Of Mystery pair are among the very few i'm familiar with. Berni Wrightson had begun contributing to the DC comic in 1969, so i'm guessing the strips adapted were fairly recent? Jack Oleck his best with story-lines direct from rent-a-horror-cliché inc. In a rare spasm of optimism, gave both volumes a thread to themselves. As you might imagine, response to date has been .... muted. House Of Mystery #1House Of Mystery #2

Another cracking issue, I love comic books so it was right up my street!. My only criticism (and it is very minor) is the typeface used for the title, for a magazine all about lurid cheap thrills literature it's a bit, well, bland!, look at some of the book covers reproduced in each issue, most of them are really attention grabbing!!.
