Was scanning in some covers for a future PF article and I came to the realisation that the skull/skeleton could probably be the most painted/photographed type of cover across horror, and yes crime - but I thought it might make for an entertaining gallery. Some of the usual suspects - and some outright brilliant ones - but a chance to give some Vault classics another airing must always be a good thing, no? (Oh, another thing - I seem to have a lot of horror novels etc with candles on the front cover - surely there's a thread in that? Soft furnishings... )

Wonderful covers!
Why don't we see the word "cavalcade" any more? I miss it.
Take care.
