Bought this way back in 1991 as soon as it came out, I read it instantly. Never touched the book after that...Until now.
If anyone ever doubted if Good ole Guy was not a perv well this should settle the argument. Chapter 1 begins with poor Merryn Bartram being told she is soon going to die of a brain tumour. Devastated she does what any normal person would do when they leave the Doctors office and go sit on a bench and fantasize over her first ever screw, resulting in virtual orgasm. The Hubby Bernie is also distraught but he seeks aid from a black magic practiser. Who calls round the night Merryn dies and takes all the necessary needs to raise her from the dead, which means sticking his finger up her womanly regions and then after a bit of chanting giving her one. So back from the dead is Merryn but with it comes the ominous sense of evil around her and most importantly she becomes a nymphomaniac ( Yep I know ) Poor old Dr Markham is her first test, she tries it on with him whilst he's on a housecall. Fair play to the lad he's the ultimate professional and rebuffs her advances. She makes do with he finger again. But hubby Bernie isn't enough for her so its off to Richie Howe the black magician who gets her all she wants. But she must give satan an offering as she kinda like "owes him one " due to the resurrection thing. Slimey the tramp is drowned, Mum and Dad get gassed, and her old mates son dies of heart failure. Add to this a young trainee black arts member gets the end of his foreskin lopped off. Bernie decides its time to do away with the now stinky foul breathed Merryn. So on a weekend trip he pushes her off the cliffs. But seaweed clad and drenched she returns.
And thats as far as I am at this moment. But as I said earlier Good old Guy is and will always be king of smut. Another example of the sudden urge to screw the opposite sex is in his book The Festering. People get the plague but rather than go see their local GP it a case of " Fuck this I'm off to shag someone" Great stuff.

I wish I could remember my exact thoughts on this book. I do recall feeling it was one of his most accomplished books and the sense of hanging onto love was moving. One of my faves of his in fact.
