There is an interview with Johnny Mains in the next issue of the BFS Bulletin, Prism, for which I am now the new editor ( returning to a job I last did in 1975).

Prism will be off to the printers tomorrow, in time for the BFS's March mailing, and will be 56 pages long, with a black and white Lovecraftian cover by Dave Carson, artist Guest of Honour at the World Horror Convention in Brighton. I'm quite pleased with the issue, including Johnny Main's interview. Next issue I'm hoping to include reviews of Johnny's Pan book, Back From the Dead, and Charlie Black's Sixth Black Book of Horror, not to mention John Probert's upcoming collection of short stories. I'm hoping to redress the balance a little towards horror, which I feel has been neglected somewhat in recent years in favour of pure fantasy and SF. Others, of course, may disagree. David

Sounds excellent David, the more horror the better as far as I am concerned

Congratulations (i think!), Mr. Riley. your first editorship since Beyond?
Do you have to be a BFS member to get Prism, or are there copies set aside for sale to outsiders?

Well - I now have thirteen boxes of books cluttering up the dining room, but here at last is Back From the Dead. Thank you to everyone on here. Your support, knowledge and insight would have made this a much poorer book indeed. J x

Yes, Prism is just mailed out to members of the BFS. Hopefully, though, the interview will eventually be made available to anyone going to the BFS website to see. David PS It is the first editing job I've taken on since Beyond - with the added advantage that all the costs are covered by the BFS! I must admit to having enjoyed putting this first issue together and I look forward to continuing it for quite some time to come, provided, of course, the BFS likes what I have produced.

Maybe this is the time to give it another crack ....

The next issue of Prism will include an interview with Charles Black - and I would be interested too, dem, in doing a piece on the Vault in the not too distant future. As I see it, this is one of the best sources of information about British horror stories, writers, publishers, etc. And one of the best - if not the best - sites to visit on the net.
