hello, my name is Eric and I'm currently residing in NYC. I found this forum by complete chance while looking for horror fiction communities (so difficult to find good ones) and the information contained in each one of these posts is kind of amazing. Thanks to some of the older anthologies listed I've already expanded my authors, like Fitz-James O'Brien (thanks to the mentioning of The Diamond Lens in a write up).
My own tastes tend towards the older horror (Machen, Lovecraft, et al) so to find a forum like this is very exciting.
I too love horror short fiction and have purchased many anthologies. Sadly though I have gotten rid of many of them through various moves, but if I come across anything truly exciting, I'll see if I can't do a post of it, though it will most likely be American.

As you've probably noticed, we've probably enthused over as many American authors as we have British! It's the European, Australian and ROW authors who are woefully under-represented at present: a few posts on the Fontana Tales of Terror series and the abundance of German cover scans friend Andy has treated us to and that's about it. Anyway, thanks for joining and i hope you enjoy your time with us.

i actually just recalled two old anthologies called Tales of the Macabre and More Tales of the Macabre from the 50s I picked up at a vintage paperback sale. I'll see what I can do about getting them online w/ contents
edit: misremembered the titles. Macabre Reader and More Macabre but they're in pretty rough shape.
