Stuck for a groovy instant soundtrack to accompany your New Years "celebrations"? Fortunately, your ever-obliging Vault can help ... or at least, its musically talented members can! Most of you will already be aware of Craig Herbertson and Giant Albino Penguin (just hit the links to download examples of their work), but now another Vault icon has launched an assault on crummy music scene - Bushwick! Hear Noah & Benbow's four track demo ( I'm Killing Everything, Baby Death Smash, Powerful King and I'm So Happy That You're Getting Engaged) at Normal Man - and be prepared to be surprised because it's not quite the extreme noise terror you might expect. Their battered punk-speed blues riffs are actually catchy as hell, and i can't get Baby Death Smash out of my head!

Normal Man news alert (please forgive self-promotion...): After doing two gigs as a two-piece with the drum machine, we've now swelled to a 'proper' band with bass and drums and that, with two big punk rock fellers. Introducing Chris K on drums (The Grand March/ex-WhoresWhoresWhores) and on bass, Beautiful Steve (The Horror/Sex Maniacs/ex-Voorhees). We've had one practice so far and it's harrowing stuff. Will let you know when we record some stuff and put it online. As my gift to you, here's a track by the mysterious Pat Crowne, called "I Fuck Birds". I hope some of you have a listen and maybe enjoy it: audio.bombsandwich.com/store/public/Blog/Choonz/i%20fuck%20birds.mp3That's all folks, cheers, as you were!

Anyone releasing a title called 'I Fuck Birds' is definitely going in the right direction Bushwick. I might wait till the kids are in bed before enjoying. Is there any continuity with the Macc Lads here?

Pat Crowne is more existential and debonair than the Macc Lads. He has another track called "I'll Fucking Damage You" which I'll put online when I get round to it.

apologies to self-promote yet again...
we've finished recording our album...there's four tracks as a preview on the myspace, address in above posts.

We're looking for a label to put our record out, so if anyone knows any budding David Geffens who have money to burn in some kind of tax-loss exercise, please get in touch!
we have a few gigs coming up in the North...we're always up for more, we'll play anywhere for petrol money...again, get in touch!
.end of transmission.

"That joyless vibe" The Black Hitler is my pick, a filthy Sabbaf riff and your vocals are more distinct than on the earlier demo's. and the current band photo is just right: there's an aura of .... i think "menace" is the word i'm looking for ..... i genuinely hope you find a label!

Any particular reason for going with a nasty pink cassette only release, mr "misanthropic singer Noah Brown"? Am listening to The Barrel as I type and you lot really sound the part now, tight, proper horrible, reminiscent of Black Flag circa My War.Dear god, I can even hear the words to Baby Death Smash! Other than the sad omission of early favourite I'm so happy you're getting engaged, it's like Normal Man - The Greatest Hits (so far).

Normal Man - City Livin’ (Viral Age/At War With False Noise, 2019) Noah B. Brown Desperate music for desperate times. Nine years of austerity later, Normal Man return with eleven punk anti-anthems promoting steroid abuse, urine drinking as healthy alternative to craft beer, and firearms for all. 'Eat Shit and Die' is music to mug yuppies by - for crack money. In 'I Will let you Wank Soon' the body-building front man flaunts it before a lusting admirer, though no doubt who is in control. Epic dirge 'Impaled On A Spike' charts protracted death throes of a man with a sharpened stake rammed up him from below. 'Acid in Jail' adds squalling sax. Personal favourite, Arm The UK ("Level the playing field"), propelled by a disgusting bass line, recalls Carnivore at their most pathologically public spirited. "If you wanna live on the last day you need a fighting chance!" The "music"? To these ears there's a bit of Sabbaf in there, possibly the Meat Men, definitely Henry Rollins/ Black Flag. Some songs are insanely catchy. "I Will Let You Wank Soon" seems to play in my head whenever I'm waiting for the bus. If your like your noise merchants vicious, grimy, funny-scary and punk minus the fashion accessories, Normal Man will see you alright. Listen/ order here: Bandcamp: Normal Man - City Livin'File under: the sound of "a polarised and volatile society"
