Haven't seen any bigfoot over there...probably scared off by all those black-eyed children, werewolves, panthers and crocodiles, not to mention keeping their heads down to avoid crashing UFOs. That Lee Brickley fellow won't rest until he's seen Cannock Chase officially recognised as Britain's most cryptozoologically and paranormally blighted location. It's a crusade. He's certainly promoting it for all it's worth...and I forgot to mention the goblins that surrounded a car and the troglodytes living in abandoned mine tunnels. GNS's Bats out of Hell is set on Cannock Chase, which is why I have a soft spot for the book.

I like that he had the bats attack the Holte End during an Aston Villa match. More than anything, I loved it when the Crabs on the Rampage destroyed the Isle of Dogs.

It's always interesting, I think, when an author uses locations which are familiar to the reader. In Bats out of Hell, Smith sets several scenes in Pye Green, right on the edge of Cannock Chase, an area I am very familiar with. As for the bats attacking the Holt End, maybe Guy was a Birmingham City fan lol.
