Not reallly. If I remember correctly - don´t have the books at hand at the moment - Lory always did a kind of recap chapter with footnotes *see Book2. etc to whett the appetite of the reader. So you get an overview of the series if you want it or not.

Drums was one of the better ones.

And I can't believe that book of "deadly plants" doesn't have room for Clark Ashton Smith's "The Seed From The Sepulchre", which is one of my very earliest memories of reading horror.

It took me a long time to see it, but I think it may be a decomposing corpse, or possibly a mannequin with holes in it, lying on a bed. I think we need to see a larger version.

i really like the look of the Flora Curiosa and Invertebrata Enigmatica collections. Flora ... has huge Plants Hate You appeal and delighted to see Oscar Cook made the cut! I've not heard the name Howard R. Garis before, but anyone who can write a story called Professor Jonkin's Cannibal Plant is OK in my book.

That's a disturbing picture. Almost as gut wrenching as the ugly dwarf child with doll we know and love but in a more yukky manner. The artist should be found and given the Vault thumbs up award. Not sure I'd want to go for a pint with him or her though...

Howard R. Garis wrote the Uncle Wiggly books, about a rabbit who helped children and had a weasel for a maid. I loved to hear these stories before bedtime when I was a kid.
