Good news for fans of Misty. I would like to see more classic comics being reprinted.

I never even saw this series, but there is a large article (7 pages with some artwork) about Misty in the just released christmas edition of 2000AD. Some reminiscences by creator Pat Mills, about the impact and the history, the struggles behind the scenes and so on. I thought it very interesting. Seems the reprint is out. It contains the stories Moonchild and The Four Faces of Eve.

A second volume of Misty stories has been announced, yet again featuring compilations of two of the comic's serial stories. This is just one of the titles announced by Rebellion, with Scream's 'The Dracula Files', and the wonderful Ken Reid's marvellously monstrous 'Faceache' SCRUNGE-ing himself back into action in a new collection among the highlights. downthetubes.net/?p=36825

I actually had a letter in the M.R. James Ghosts & Scholars Newsletter about a possible (and I think very likely) Jamesian influence on Ken Reid and Faceache. If my letter had been an article I would have called it "Ken Reid: Scrunging and Antiquarian Horror". Samples of the strip are easy to find on Google. My letter cited the first strip I have attached. The reference to "A deformed owl!" in the second one is very funny.

I'm especially glad that some of the strips from SCREAM are coming out. Fingers crossed for a collected THIRTEENTH FLOOR at some point. There were a couple from a small press a little while back, but they seem to be out of print now.

When I checked the spelling of "scrunging" online a very inappropriate definition appeared on Urban Dictionary. Do not read it!!!

Faceache vol 1: The First Hundred Scrunges is to be published on 30 Nov 2017. I hope it's successful enough to be an annual event.

It's interesting to see that Faceache is the first of the humorous IPC/Fleetway characters to be reprinted.

Ken Reid's Frankie Stein should also be reprinted. This is the original art for the strip from Wham! 134 (January 7th, 1967). Frankie's sex life does not bear thinking about.

It's interesting to see that Faceache is the first of the humorous IPC/Fleetway characters to be reprinted. I received the Faceache book yesterday. The reproduction of the original strips is excellent. So are the production values of the actual book. However, the editors chose to include 17 strips not drawn by Ken Reid. They are dreadful. Rosemary Pardoe accepted a letter I wrote about the Jamesian aspects (really!) of Faceache for Ghosts and Scholars Newsletter 18. I see now that the strips make much use of folklore. I think that another letter is on its way.
