My deathless novel School: The Seventh Silence just died. There may be a faint possibility of buying it before its unloved burial at Immanion press www.immanion-press.com/info/people.aspBut it is a faint possibility now. It received resounding critical reviews. Storm Constantine claimed she loved it (she personally edited it) , Mike Glyer, Chair of the World Fantasy congress said it was 'brilliant', and Mike Don, Dreamberrywine, book reviewer from Manchester said 'poignant and terrifying by turns, utterly original in conception'. Unfortunately, no one else said a thing (except some nice remarks by Rog) and the number of people who bought it could have filled a telephone box...

Looks like I succeeded in getting a copy, Craig. Or, at least, my order on the site went through okay.
Look forward to seeing it.

Thanks David,
I reread my mail and it looks a bit bitter but that's not really the case. I was delighted to get published and pleased that anyone bought it. Hope you enjoy it.

Unfortunately, no one else said a thing (except some nice remarks by Rog) and the number of people who bought it could have filled a telephone box... Hopefully it doesn't seem too bad being AWOL for a year, quoting myself and then posting a shameless plug. Sadly, reality caught up with me: moving house and country,(avoid this if you can) three of my close relatives in and out of hospital again after losing my brother and mum two years ago, lurching back and forwards between Scotland and Germany just to try and earn a crust. We all have our problems of course and maybe it's just an age thing - more funerals than weddings and less energy to deal with any of it. Anyway,I'm sort of back like a reluctant vampire, but may have to crawl back into my coffin again shortly. The worst of it is that my creativity, always a bit questionable, has diminished to the single Xmas story for the Vault. Here again we see the Frankensteinian power of the vault to resurrect even the most hopeless cadavers for which I am very grateful. The single spot of writing good news is that finally, after interminable years 'School: The Seventh Silence' was republished by Evertype.com. (For any budding authors this involved another twenty re-edits and it wasn't much fun). Added bonus is that it's a lovely edition illustrated by Mathew Staunton and Aoife Staunton and I have also finished 'School: the Sixth Silence' and it's waiting for illustrations. So apologies for my absence and naturally I now expect you all to buy my book.... www.evertype.com/books/school-7.html

Sorry to hear that you have been having a difficult time, I do understand what you say about getting older. The peaks seem fewer and lower, and the valleys more numerous and deeper. Good luck to you and I hope 2018 will bring you health and happiness.
