I like the cover of that German edition.
Having just read the Pan edition, I enjoyed it a great deal. Burke's fleshing out of events and back stories really adds something fresh, particularly after having watched the film many times over the decades.

It sounds delightful. I'm a big fan of this film, and only part of it is because of significant childhood TV viewings long ago. For me the strongest parts are the "frame" scenes in the train, just getting to see that marvelous cast interact. I do happen to enjoy the stories even if they're all fairly lightweight. Donald Sutherland and Max Adrian make the Vampire one memorable.
I'd love to read that book but I think the only edition available here is the old one and it's prohibitively expensive in the online used book market.
Best wishes,
Hel.
