I hope you don't mind me drawing attention to my new CD here. I normally keep a fairly strict division between my music and my horror but I noticed, mostly after it had gone to the press, that there seems to be a heavy Vault influence eating away at my wholesome folk music. Essentially, I've come out with a Post Apocalyptic vision of the world with most of the opponents in my songs dying, being killed, being stalked, overdosing or simply haunting the listener. All in all a very dark and gory result and somewhat of a departure from singalonga Craig. It can be listened to a bit here Communication Breakdownor bought here or the usual places www.amazon.com/Communication-Breakdown/dp/B00637PQXUI blame you really.

good on yer craig. i think the 'vault influence' is much in evidence on the cover too where the young lady looks like she's just been exposed to this board for the first time. * he's too modest to tell you 'bout this himself, and he doesn't know i know about it, but here's Craig performing Hearts Of Glory, live at Hearts' Tyncastle Stadium, Remembrance Day, 2010. *

Very nice! But as a long-time fan of New Orleans I could not help reacting to your pronunciation of the city's name. Natives always pronounce it New OR-lins, or possibly New OR-lee-ans if they want to be pretentious. Saying New or-LEENS is considered a terrible faux-pas. Something to do with the French origins of the name.

I'm not a native of New Orleans and pronounced it as an outsider. I tried to give just a slight 'OR-lee-ans' inflection because I was aware of the distinction ( I was there around 2001 hence the song) - but just as with 'Y'all know what I mean' I thought it would be worse to try and parrot out a poor impersonation of a native speaker so I stuck bravely to my voice. I'm sincerely hoping some famous American will pronounce it correctly on a recording and make me a multi millionaire.... You'll recognise the funeral Jazz drumming? Lovely touch by Mark Bloomer.

Thanks. I just noticed that one of the tracks 'Candlelit Waltz' was originally a poem first published in of all things Coral King's 'The Thinking Man’s Crumpet' which was a sort of daughter of 'Filthy Creations'.... The insidious evil of the Vault spawning its unwelcome offspring in unusual places

It's not really vault per se but my old Drummer Nicky discovered his diary which catalogues the entire Androids career. Nicky drummed in Holocaust after us (which was certainly a bit more Vault) and had the best collection of horror comics I have ever seen back in 1977 (all in plastic wraps). Androids careerOur first gig as a full band was on Sunday 4th Dec 1977. The best bit is Nicky's notes which among other things indicated that we got the old people dancing to 'Anarchy in the UK' at a gig in 1978. Still remember kids doing the dead fly on the church floor as the helpless church wardens tried to eject them. Great memories.
