very lovely of you gents and much appreciated by us both. i'm always a bit uncomfortable about running Chrissie's work on here, but this time i thought, "well, if someone i wasn't married to had offered me this material i'd have bitten their hand off ...." To throw us straight back into the here and now, the supernaturally industrious Johnny Mains, author, biographer, BFS award winning editor and publisher, with a taster for the forthcoming AKLONOMICON anthology, to be published by Ivan McCann and Joe Pulver's Aklo Press early in 2112. When a reclusive, retired horror author agrees to an interview with his most devoted fan what could possibly go right? Many thanks, Johnny! Attachments:

If you'd bitten her hand off she wouldn't be able to draw so well.
Its always an awkward one - the vested interest card - but to be honest you're looking at seriously good stuff here - I've been impressed since seeing those horrible sculptures you let slip a while back. The more the merrier for me.
Johnny, what did we do to you when you were little that you come out with this horrible but thoroughly enjoyable stuff.

You bloody Pan Horror authors instilled lots of fun in me and a lust for coming up with silly names...

Another strong contender for world's busiest man, plus undisputed best-dressed gentleman in history, today's purveyor of macabre chuckles is the Right Hon. Lord John Llewellyn Probert with a short sharp shocker from his fifth collection, the masterly Wicked Delights. If the mere thought of reincarnation is enough to make your flesh creep then, trust me, you'll like the idea even less once you've met The Comeback Kid .... Many thanks your Lordship! Attachments:

very lovely of you to say so Lord P, but remember, we are talking "the universally loved and admired, etc.,"vault here! for the sake of sales - let alone your credibility! - you should say they come from some other board and somebody else! i'm truly delighted to run a story of yours, and someone not unconnected with you needn't think she'll escape my begging with menaces routine either ....

David A. Riley's breakthrough story was, of course, The Lurkers In The Abyss in The 11th Pan Book Of Horror Stories back in 1971. The intervening years have seen many adventures but still no collection! Thankfully, that sorry state of affairs is soon to be rectified by Johnny Mains' Nooses & Gibbet publications. In the meantime, here's a brutal post-Zombie Apocalypse treat, revived from Obverse Books' Bite-Sized Horror (editor, the seemingly omnipresent Johnny Mains) published back in the summer of this year. Thanks to David for letting me revive it, and to Johnny for giving me his blessing! Attachments:

Acclaimed folk musician (current album Communication Breakdown) and novelist, German-based Edinburgh man Craig Herbertson's career as a horror author got off to a winning start when the late Clarence Paget included his novella, The Heaven Makers, in The 29th Book Of Horror Stories. Unfortunately, Mr. Paget failed to mention this to Craig, who learned of his triumph via the internet several years later when copies of the book were devilishly hard to come by. A return to the genre in the mid-00's has seen Craig become a regular contributor to The Black Book Of Horror Stories (it's all right: Charles has kept him informed) while his joyously unpleasant The Waiting Game played its part in landing the 2010 BFS Best Anthology award for Back From The Dead: The Legacy Of The Pan Book Of Horror Stories. And his story for Vault? it's a car crash waiting to happen .... many, many thanks Craig! Attachments:
